The first phase, known as Ayushman Apke Dwar 3.0, primarily focuses on the distribution of Ayushman Cards. The main objective is to ensure the distribution of Ayushman cards to field-level workers for further delivery.

The second phase involves the Ayushman Mela, conducted on a weekly basis at AB-HWC (Ayushman Bharat – Health and Wellness Centre) Melas and CHC (Community Health Centre) Melas. This phase aims to raise awareness and provide healthcare services. Additionally, it includes early diagnosis of non-communicable diseases (NCD) screening, TB screening, sickle cell disease screening, creation of ABHA IDs, and follow-up for PMJAY beneficiaries.

The third phase, Ayushman Sabha, focuses on conducting awareness sessions at AB-HWCs. The primary objective is to generate awareness about various health schemes, issue Ayushman Bharat Cards, and provide information, education, and communication (IEC) on different health activities, such as NCD screening, TB screening, sickle cell disease screening, and immunisation.

It is worth noting that a total of 868 AB-HWC Melas and 211 Ayushman Sabhas at the AB-HWC level have been planned in Nagaon district during the campaign period. This comprehensive effort aims to enhance healthcare awareness, access, and services for the residents of the district.

Our Tezpur correspondent adds: On Friday, in sync with the rest of the nation, the Sonitpur district Health department, operating under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, government of India, launched the ‘Ayushman Bhava’ campaign in Tezpur. This endeavour aims to extend comprehensive healthcare services to every village and town, ensuring accessibility for all. Notably, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has initiated this campaign, which serves as a comprehensive effort to raise awareness about various healthcare schemes and to ensure the widespread availability of critical healthcare services in both rural and urban areas.

The campaign comprises three major components. The first component, ‘Ayushman Apke Dwar 3.0’, involves the door-to-door distribution of Ayushman cards to all remaining eligible beneficiaries under the PM-JAY Scheme, commencing on September 17. The objective is to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left behind.

The second component, ‘Ayushman Mela’, will see a weekly Health Mela held at AB-HWCs (Ayushman Bharat – Health and Wellness Centres) with a special focus on optimising the utilisation of healthcare services and generating awareness.

The third component involves the organisation of weekly Health Melas at the Community Health Centre (CHC) level in rotation by Medical Colleges. These events will provide specialised services in obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, surgery, ENT, eye, and psychiatric departments.

Furthermore, village-level meetings (Gram Sabhas) titled ‘Ayushman Sabha’ will be conducted in rural areas, and wards in urban areas will be organised under the supervision of the Village Health, Sanitation, and Nutrition Committee (VHSNC) or the Urban Local Body on October 2. The purpose is to enhance awareness about various healthcare schemes and services, including Ayushman cards, ABHA IDs, Sickle Cell Disease, Immunisation, TB patient identification, among others.

As the Ayushman Bhava campaign progresses, the successful implementation of the mentioned initiatives will ultimately enable Gram Panchayats and Nagar Panchayats to achieve the status of ‘Ayushman Gram Panchayat’ or ‘Ayushman Urban Ward’. This achievement will be marked by the saturation of selected health indicators, including the distribution of Ayushman Cards, creation of ABHA IDs, screening for Hypertension and Diabetes, identification and treatment of TB patients, and screening for Sickle Cell Disease along with card distribution.

During the campaign, several other programs, including SHC-HWC (Sub Health Centre – Health and Wellness Centre), PHC-HWC (Primary Health Centre – Health and Wellness Centre), CHC (Community Health Centre), District Hospitals, and Medical Colleges, will be organised. Additionally, activities such as the Swachhata Abhiyan (Cleanliness Drive), organ donation pledges, and blood donation camps will also be held.
