JORHAT, Aug 7: Three youths, including a woman, have been arrested in Jorhat under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for allegedly luring a minor girl and confining her in a homestay and a hotel for two days, where she was reportedly sexually assaulted.
A case has been registered against the accused under Jorhat Police Station Case No 404/2025.

They have been booked under Sections 127(2), 123, 64(1), and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), read with Section 4 of the POCSO Act, 2012.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Rinku Hazarika and Pallab Jyoti Hazarika, both residents of Bhogamukh in Teok, and Santana Gogoi alias Pahi of Paakhimora, Meleng.
The trio were produced before a local court on Wednesday and have been remanded to judicial custody.
