BOKAJAN, Aug 8: The BJP in Karbi Anglong is gearing up for the coming assembly election by inducting opposition workers into its fold through a Mass Joining Programme at Kuligaon Sports Association Stadium in Borjan.
Similar to other BJP Mass Joining Programmes in the district, a large number of opposition workers from Congress, All Party Hills Leaders Conference, and CPI(ML) joined the BJP.
Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Chief Executive Member Tuliram Ronghang, who has been at the forefront of the BJP’s preparations, attended as the chief guest.
He welcomed the new members and reiterated the BJP’s promise of development, progress, and peace, along with the demand for an Autonomous State under Article 244(A) of the Indian Constitution.
Ronghang emphasized the need for cooperation with the authority while placing demands, rather than resorting to confrontational agitation.
He said development should go hand-in-hand with the demand for an Autonomous State. The Mass Joining Programme was attended by BJP leaders, including Roland Killing, Sundor Tisso, Darsing Ronghang, Raju Tisso, Surjya Rongphar, Richard Tokbi, Tilutama Hasnu, and Bilimohan Khaklary, among others.
