BOKAJAN, Aug 8: Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Chief Executive Member Tuliram Ronghang inaugurated the new building of Bokajan Police Station.

The police station, established in 1956, had been operating without a new building for over a decade.

At the inauguration ceremony, Ronghang was flanked by District Commissioner Nirola Phangchopi, SP Sanjib Kumar Saikia, Bokajan BJP MLA Dr Numal Momin, and ADC Kakumoni Saikia.

The new building was declared open for use after the ceremonial ribbon-cutting.

The Bokajan Police Station plays a crucial role in combating narcotics smuggling, gun running, and stolen vehicle trafficking due to its strategic location.

It has been actively involved in seizing psychotropic drugs, handling gun running cases, and dealing with inter-state criminals.
