KOKRAJHAR, Aug 16: The Department of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, has launched an ambitious campaign titled Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan to ensure comprehensive development of marginalised tribal communities through participatory implementation of socio-economic security schemes. According to an official statement, the campaign also aims to empower government employees as pioneers through structured training and to prepare a vision plan for implementation by 2030 with the involvement of grassroots communities.
In its first phase, the initiative will cover 61,841 villages across 324 districts of the country, benefitting around 10.5 crore people in one lakh tribal villages.
Kokrajhar district has been included in the first phase. Nodal Officers and Trainer Officers have already been identified, and notifications issued.
Following state-level training, field-level activities will be undertaken with the support of Adi Karmayogis, who will collaborate with tribal leaders, pioneers, and young volunteers called Adi Sahyogis and Adi Sathis.
The campaign’s implementation was also discussed at special Gaon Sabhas held in Kokrajhar district on Saturday.
Participants expressed interest in plans for setting up Adi Seva Kendras in villages to provide multiple government facilities at one place, holding weekly tribal service hours, and preparing rural action plans through partnerships.
