GUWAHATI, Oct 6: The District Orientation Programme under the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan was held on Monday at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Kokrajhar.
The initiative aims to empower individuals and institutions for tribal transformation by creating a cadre of committed change leaders to improve public service delivery and promote participatory governance in tribal areas.

The programme was attended by Subhram Aditya Bora, ADC Kokrajhar, and Lourembam Nelson Mangangcha, ADC i/c Parbatjhora SDO (C), along with officials from key line departments and district master trainers under the Abhiyan.
Discussions focused on improving governance responsiveness, aligning local needs with planning processes, and promoting inter-departmental convergence for holistic tribal development. Suggestions were also made for integrated awareness drives against social issues such as child marriage, witch-hunting, and dowry.
As part of the Abhiyan, a District Process Lab will be conducted from October 7 to 9 at the Election Branch Conference Hall in Kokrajhar. The programme will include participatory activities such as transect walks, social mapping, and vision-building exercises in tribal villages. These will help communities identify key priorities in health, education, livelihoods, and infrastructure, forming the foundation of the Village Action Plan 2030.
The plan aims to convert collective community aspirations into defined development goals with clear timelines and departmental coordination.
Additionally, Adi Sewa Kendras will be established to ensure sustained community engagement through grievance redressal, awareness generation, and the coordination of welfare schemes.
The district administration has reaffirmed its commitment to making the Kokrajhar model a benchmark for responsive and participatory governance under the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan, contributing to the broader national goal of a Viksit Bharat through tribal transformation.
