Darrang to celebrate Dr Bhupen Hazarika’s centenary Birth Anniversary

MANGALDAI, Sept 6: The Darrang district administration, along with the entire state, has decided to celebrate the centenary birth anniversary of ‘Sudhakantha’ Dr. Bhupen Hazarika on January 8.

The day will begin at 9 AM with a wreath-laying and floral tribute ceremony at the statue of Dr Bhupen Hazarika in Bhupen Hazarika Park.

Following this, a special wall magazine prepared for the occasion will be unveiled by senior journalist Bhargav Kumar Das at the District Commissioner’s office.

A commemorative meeting, chaired by District Commissioner Parag Kumar Kakati, will feature distinguished guests, and senior physician Dr Amrendra Narayan Dev and senior journalist Bhargav Kumar Das. In the evening, a musical event will also be organized at the District Commissioner’s office.
