State Handloom Expo 2025 Inaugurated at Jorhat with Cultural Performances and Dignitaries in Attendance

Morigaon, Sept 08: The North East People’s Development Federation (NEPDF), Assam organised the State Handloom Expo at I.T.I. Playground, Jorhat, Assam from September 5th to 18th September 2025, under the sponsored programme of the Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India, New Delhi. The ceremonial auspicious inauguration of the programme was held on 6th September 20

The programme was presided over by N. N. Rana Patgiri, Principal Advisor, NEPDF, Assam. Jayanta B. Mangalpalli, Assistant Director (Design), Weavers Service Centre, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India, Guwahati attended as Key Guest. Sayera Rahman, Director, Prerona Pratibandhi Sishu Bikash Kendra, Jorhat and Binoy Kumar Sharma, I/C Assistant Director, Handloom & Textiles, Govt. of Assam, Jorhat graced the occasion as Special Guests. The event was also attended by Bidyut Rana Patgiri,Director,NEPDF;KamalKumarBaruah,Additional Director, NEPDF; along with participants, weavers, artisans, and local public of Jorhat.

The inaugural programme featured a Ganesh Vandana performance by the specially- abled students of Prerona Pratibandhi Sishu Bikash Kendra,followedby Classical,Bihu, and Sattriya dance performances.
