DIPHU, Oct 6: The centenary celebration of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was held with patriotic fervour at the Joysing Doloi Auditorium premises in Diphu on Sunday (October 5), marking 100 years of the organisation’s service to Bharat Mata and its enduring role in nation-building.
The RSS, a key organisation within the Sangh Parivar, was founded on September 27, 1925, by Dr K B Hedgewar with the objective of imparting character training and fostering unity among Hindus through discipline and selfless service.

Over the past century, the Sangh has worked to promote the ideology of Hindutva, preserve Indian culture, and uphold the civilisational values that form the foundation of the nation.
The programme at Diphu began with the ceremonial honouring of Bharat Mata – Maa Bharati and the offering of floral tributes to the founder leaders of the RSS, whose vision and sacrifice laid the groundwork for the organisation’s century-long journey.
The event reflected on the Sangh’s contributions towards uniting Indian society and promoting cultural integrity.
Member of Parliament Amar Sing Tisso, former MP Horen Sing Bey, Karbi Anglong district BJP president Rolland Killing, and former Member of Autonomous Council Ramsing Timung were among the dignitaries who attended the celebration.
Prominent BJP leaders and thousands of RSS karyakartas (volunteers) from across the district gathered for the occasion, expressing solidarity and commitment to the ideals espoused by the organisation.
In their addresses, the speakers lauded the RSS for its unwavering dedication to discipline, unity, and service, describing it as a movement that has inspired generations to work for the nation’s progress and cultural resurgence.
They emphasised that the Sangh’s century of service represents a legacy of devotion, patriotism, and social harmony.
The celebration was filled with patriotic songs, traditional rituals, and chants of “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” capturing the spirit of unity and national pride among the participants.
The centenary event in Diphu formed part of the nationwide commemorations marking 100 years of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s service and commitment to the ideals of selfless work, cultural preservation, and nation-first philosophy.
