ITANAGAR, Oct 9: Arunachal Pradesh mountaineer and Everest summiteer Tagit Sorang, along with his expedition team, who successfully summited Mount Kang Yatse-II (6,250 metres) in the Leh region of Ladakh on 31st August 2025, paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt General KT Parnaik, (Retd), at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar, on Thursday.

The team provided the Governor with a detailed account of their challenging 11-day expedition, describing the extreme weather conditions, high-altitude terrain, and the meticulous preparation required to achieve this remarkable feat.

They shared insights into the physical and mental endurance needed to scale such a technically demanding peak, as well as the critical importance of teamwork and coordination in overcoming obstacles encountered during the climb.

Expressing his admiration, the Governor described this mountaineering achievement as a proud moment for Arunachal Pradesh.

He said the expedition not only highlights the courage and perseverance of the climbers but also reflects the immense potential, determination, and adventurous spirit of the youth of the State.

The Governor remarked that such accomplishments serve as a source of inspiration for young people to push their boundaries, embrace challenges, and pursue ambitious goals.

He further commended the exemplary teamwork and resilience demonstrated by the climbers throughout the expedition.

The Governor acknowledged the pivotal role played by co-climbers Tarak Dogar, Taru Hai, Sorang Tanang, and Ningchong Rava, noting that their unwavering commitment and mutual support were instrumental in the successful completion of the climb.

He emphasised that achievements of this nature bring national recognition and enhance the reputation of Arunachal Pradesh on both the national and international stage.
