Tezpur, 10 Oct: The Governor of Assam has constituted a three-member inquiry committee to investigate the allegations levelled against Tezpur University Vice-Chancellor Shambhunath Singh and to review the prevailing situation on campus.
The committee is chaired by IIT Guwahati Director Devendra Jalihal, with Dibrugarh University Vice-Chancellor Jiten Hazarika and Higher Education Department Secretary Narayan Konwar serving as members.
The inquiry panel is scheduled to visit Tezpur University today to begin its assessment. It will examine all aspects of the allegations and the university’s current state before submitting a detailed report to the Governor within seven days.
