GUWAHATI, Oct 10: Assam has made a major stride in public recruitment, with 7,650 candidates selected for Grade III posts under the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) 2025, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Friday.
The state government is now on track to complete nearly two lakh appointments, exceeding its original target of one lakh, reflecting a significant boost in public employment opportunities for the youth.
The ADRE 2025 results were officially declared at 10:30 AM on the state portals assam.gov.in and sebaonline.org, covering 50 state departments.
The examination attracted 23,85,421 applicants from 28 districts, of whom 17,31,616 appeared for the written test.
After clearing the skill assessment, 16,295 candidates advanced to the next stage, and 13,877 were eligible for the final evaluation.
Based on combined scores from the written and skill tests, 7,650 candidates were confirmed successful.
Addressing the media, chief minister Sarma described the outcome as a demonstration of clean, transparent, and merit-based recruitment, emphasising that the government’s approach safeguards the future of Assam’s youth while setting a benchmark for fairness in public appointments.
“We had pledged one lakh appointments, and today we are well on our way to achieving nearly two lakh appointments — a true testament to our commitment to the youth of Assam,” Sarma said. He added that the future of the young generation is secure, and their hard work defines success in the “New Assam.”
Additional chief secretary Ajay Tewari, who also serves as Chairman of the State Level Recruitment Commission for Class-III Posts, provided further details at a press conference.
He stated that the selected candidates will be appointed across 50 departments, with Agriculture recording the highest number of vacancies at 1,850, followed by Panchayat and Rural Development with 873 posts, and School Education with 581 posts.
The ADRE exams were conducted across 28 districts in September last year, and along with the Grade III results, the selection list for 625 posts in various police cadres, including sub-inspectors, constables, and Grade IV staff, was also released.
Tewari added that results for an additional 5,614 posts conducted by the police recruitment board are scheduled to be declared on Saturday.
Sarma hailed the combined outcome as a record achievement, asserting that Assam has delivered more than promised, setting a new benchmark in honesty, fairness, and opportunity in public recruitment.
The state government’s ongoing recruitment drive is expected to provide a significant boost to youth employment while reinforcing the principles of meritocracy and transparency in Assam’s public service. (With inputs from PTI)
