Guwahati , 21 Oct:Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma visited Lakshmipur A Block village today following unrest outside Baksa District Jail during the transfer of two accused in the Zubeen Garg case. The disturbance led to police firing, injuring two locals, Dipak Medhi and Bidyut Kalita.
Dr. Sarma met the injured and their families, handing over Rs. 2 lakh each for medical expenses. He assured additional government assistance as required for their recovery.
