AJYCP condemns assault on indigenous dimasa person in Hawaipur

BOKAJAN, Oct 27: Assam Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP), Bokajan Regional Committee, in a press conference held at its office, strongly condemned the physical assault on an indigenous Dimasa person on October 25.

It may be mentioned that a Dimasa tribesman was allegedly assaulted by some individuals over a land boundary dispute at Hawaipur in West Karbi Anglong on October 25.

AJYCP Bokajan president, Sandeep Saikia, said that it is unfortunate that people coming from outside and staying on indigenous land have assaulted a local person.

He warned that such incidents should not recur, failing which appropriate steps would be taken.

The press conference was attended by AJYCP Bokajan secretary, Niloy Duwarah, AJYCP Central Executive Committee member, Jitu Phukon, and AJYCP worker, Waisong Terang.
