TEZPUR, Oct 30: Lokanayak Omeo Kumar Das College, Dhekiajuli, organised a seminar titled ‘Srijanisil Sahitya: Sahityar Srijan Manan’ at the Bezbaruah Conference Hall on Thursday. The event, conducted by Bhasha Sahitya Sanskriti Adhyan Mancha Coordinator Dr Arindam Kumar Deka, began with a ceremonial lamp lighting attended by GB President Dr Jogendra Saikia and other dignitaries.
Principal Dr Sukdev Adhikari inaugurated the seminar, emphasising the importance of creative writing among students. Resource persons included Bengali novelist Shyamal Bhattacharjee, short story writer Jayanta Chakraborty, poet Jeevan Narah, and writer Khagen Swargiary, who spoke on topics ranging from creative inspiration and the significance of mother tongue to the value of literary translation.
Dr Jogendra Saikia highlighted the connection between literature and human life, while Shyamal Bhattacharjee concluded the session with enriching remarks. The seminar saw participation from faculty members, students and distinguished citizens of Dhekiajuli and ended with a vote of thanks by Dr Jyotshna Baruah.
