TEZPUR, Oct 30: A LAC-wise Mega Health Camp for the Dhekiajuli Legislative Assembly Constituency was held on Thursday at Lokanayak Omeo Kumar Das College, Dhekiajuli, Sonitpur, under the “Susrusha Setu 2025” initiative of the Government of Assam. The camp, part of the “Seva Hi Samarpan: Seva Saptah” programme, marked the fifth health camp in the district under Susrusha Setu 2025.
The camp was inaugurated by Health Minister and Dhekiajuli MLA Ashok Singhal. Other dignitaries present included Pranati Gogoi Joint Secretary of Health & Family Welfare Department, Co-District Commissioner Dyotiva Borah, Dr Manoj Choudhury Executive Director of NHM Assam, ADC (Health) Twahir Alam, Tulika Saikia, Vice Chairperson of Dhekiajuli Municipal Board and Dr Biman Sarma, Joint Director of Health Services, along with senior health officials and staff.

The camp witnessed an overwhelming response, recording 2,340 registrations and an estimated footfall of nearly 5,000 people. Services included 15 registration desks, two Mobile Medical Units, a general laboratory, 10 specialist OPDs including cardiology and neurology, 16 doctors in the general OPD, an AYUSH OPD and yoga centre, a dental OPD, a disability centre issuing UDID cards and a cancer screening facility. More than 150 health personnel, including doctors, lab and ECG technicians, ANMs and officials from the Social Welfare Department, offered their services to the beneficiaries.
Organised by the Department of Health & Family Welfare, the Susrusha Setu 2025 health camps aim to provide comprehensive screening for children aged 0–18 years, covering over 50 health conditions, including congenital heart diseases, neurological disorders, cleft lip and palate, congenital malformations, endocrine and haematological disorders. General health check-ups and wellness activities were also part of the initiative.
