Pradyut Bordoloi attends Congress meeting at Jagun

MARGHERITA, Nov 3: Former four-time Margherita MLA, cabinet minister and current Nagaon MP Pradyut Bordoloi attended a Congress party meeting at Jagun under the 83rd Margherita Legislative Assembly Constituency on Sunday.

Upon his arrival, Congress leaders and workers welcomed him with a bike rally from Margherita Congress Bhawan. At the venue, Bordoloi was felicitated with a phoolam gamosha by Margherita Block Congress Committee members. He also lit a lamp before a photograph of late singer Zubeen Garg and paid tribute to him.

During the extended executive meeting, more than five hundred people from various political parties and student organisations joined the Indian National Congress. The meeting was presided over by Margherita Block Congress Committee president (in-charge) Toufik Khan.

Several senior Congress leaders, including Tinsukia District Congress Committee president Durga Bhumij, APCC social media co-chairman Prateek Bordoloi, Tinsukia Seva Dal president Krishna Prasad Sah, APCC secretary Polly Hazarika, Tinsukia Mahila Congress president Shobha Dohotia and senior spokesperson Manoranjan Borgohain were present at the event.

In his address, Pradyut Bordoloi criticised the ruling BJP government, alleging that it has been deceiving the people and using them as a vote bank under the pretext of various welfare schemes.
