Monyul Super League kicks off in Tawang with grand ceremony at Gyalwa Tsangyang Gyatso Stadium

Tezpur, Nov 10:  The first-ever Monyul Super League, presented by Durex The Birds and Bees Talk and organised by the Tawang District Sports Association, was inaugurated at the Gyalwa Tsangyang Gyatso High Altitude Stadium in Tawang.

The opening ceremony was attended by MLA Phurpa Tsering, Tsering Lhamu, Namgey Tsering, former MLA Tsering Tashi, football legend Bhaichung Bhutia, Lt Gen Gambhir Singh of the Gajraj Corps, Maj Gen Amit Nautiyal, actress Daisy Shah, and singer Supriya Pathak, among others.

Praising the growing enthusiasm for football in the Monyul region, Bhaichung Bhutia inaugurated the tournament and pledged support for developing young talents through academies. Ravi Bhatnagar from Reckitt underlined the objective of The Birds and Bees Talk initiative, which focuses on empowering youth through sports and life skills.

Performances by Supriya Pathak and Tanni Dotsar energised the packed crowd, adding vibrancy to the occasion.

Seven teams from Tawang and West Kameng districts will vie for the championship title, with the final scheduled for November 25.
