GUWAHATI, Nov 17: The ‘Lions Club of Guwahati Pride’ organised a special service program on Children’s Day at Panchkanya Veda Vidyapeeth (Gurukul), Basistha on Sunday. All club members attended the event wearing their official badges, reflecting discipline, unity and enthusiasm. The program began with Vedic chanting by the Gurukul students, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere. Club members then served fresh and nutritious meals to the students and Gurukul family, embodying the Lions motto, “We Serve.”
Gifts including blankets, sweaters, stationery sets, chocolates and juice packs were distributed to children and staff, bringing joy and excitement to the occasion. The event also featured the presentation of Charter Certificates and Joining Kits to members, highlighting commitment and camaraderie within the club.
The celebrations concluded with a fellowship lunch, group photographs and visits to nearby temples for blessings. Prominent attendees included club president Anup Kumar Jajodia, secretary Manish Jain, Treasurer Uttam Kumar Agarwal and several other members. The program, led by Convenor Anil Agarwal and Co-Convenor Anil Bhartia, beautifully showcased a blend of service, spirituality and compassion, reaffirming the Lions spirit — “Where there is a need, there is a Lion.”
