MORIGAON, Nov 21: The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Morigaon successfully conducted the Bhuragaon Revenue Circle Emergency Management Exercise (RC CEMEx) focused on flood preparedness from November 19–21, 2025. The programme was inaugurated by Anusuya Sharma, ACS and Additional District Commissioner cum CEO, DDMA in the presence of Pranjal Baruah, ACS and Circle Officer, Bhuragaon Revenue Circle, along with senior district officials and nodal officers from the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA).
The exercise began with four training sessions on November 19 covering child-centric emergency preparedness, water and sanitation in emergencies, basic search and rescue and coordination for response and relief management. A total of 190 personnel participated, including officials from line departments, VDP, AAPDA Mitra, CQRT and Red Cross volunteers.
A Table-Top Exercise was conducted on November 20 at Gerua Higher Secondary School, followed by a comprehensive mock drill on November 21, where all trained personnel applied their skills in a simulated flood scenario.
DDMA Morigaon emphasized that such exercises are vital for strengthening Assam’s resilience and ensuring coordinated, effective responses to natural disasters. The authority expressed gratitude to all participating agencies for their support and commitment.
