Two-day Jolly Phonics training for PPRT teachers held

Guwahati, Nov 23: Delhi Public School, Nagaon organised a two-day professional development programme for its PPRT teachers on November 21 and 22, focusing on Jolly Phonics—a globally recognised and effective approach to early literacy. The sessions were conducted by Neeti S Nagarkar from Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Jolly Phonics is a systematic, child-friendly methodology that strengthens English reading, writing and speaking skills in young learners. Widely adopted across private and government schools in India, it is praised for its engaging techniques and strong foundation-building for early literacy.

Neeti S Nagarkar (M.Sc., ECCE) an internationally certified early childhood educator and Professional Jolly Phonics Trainer (UK), brings extensive global expertise in literacy practices. She also serves as a consultant for Handwriting without Tears (USA) and leads Kids World Education Consultants, supporting schools through impactful training programmes.

During the sessions, Nagarkar provided hands-on guidance, offering teachers valuable insights into phonics-based strategies for classroom implementation. The programme concluded with expressions of gratitude from Principal Ritu Rajnish, Headmaster Dhrubajyoti Das and Administrator Anwar Parvez, who thanked Nagarkar for her efforts in empowering PPRT teachers and enhancing early literacy instruction at DPS Nagaon.
