The advanced system incorporates 45 routes, 33 track circuits, 9 main signals, 8 independent shunt signals, 2 dummy shunt signals, 16 points and multiple vital and non-vital FNmux units for digital monitoring. Level crossings NC-26, NC-29 and NC-31 have been upgraded with Electrically Lifted Barriers, replacing the older manually operated barriers to further enhance safety standards.

Train operations resumed seamlessly after commissioning. The first train to pass through the upgraded system was the 12345 Up Saraighat Express at 01:32 hrs, followed by the 15648 DN Mumbai LTT Express at 01:34 hrs on Wednesday.

This milestone reflects NFR’s ongoing commitment to modernisation, digitalisation and the provision of safe, reliable and efficient railway services for both passengers and freight.
