GUWAHATI, Dec 8: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) on Monday solemnly observed the 70th Mahaparinirwan Divas of Bharat Ratna Dr B R Ambedkar, paying homage to the chief architect of the Indian Constitution.
The main programme was held at the Dr Bhupen Hazarika Sabha Griha at NFR Headquarters, Maligaon, where officers and staff assembled to honour Dr Ambedkar’s life and legacy.
The additional general manager of NFR offered floral tributes on the occasion.
A parallel observance was organised by the NFR Construction Organisation at the Concourse Hall of the newly constructed General Manager (Construction) Office Building in Maligaon.
The event featured floral tributes, readings on Dr Ambedkar’s contributions and reflections on his efforts toward social justice, equality and empowerment of marginalised communities.
Speakers highlighted Dr Ambedkar’s multifaceted legacy as a jurist, economist, social reformer and a visionary leader whose ideas remain crucial to shaping an inclusive and progressive society.
The Northeast Frontier Railway reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the values championed by Dr Ambedkar, urging employees to draw inspiration from his life and principles.
