Rs 26-crore market complex to come up at Moran

GUWAHATI, Dec 17: A large market complex will be constructed at Moran at an estimated cost of Rs 26 crore as part of efforts to boost local commerce and economic activity in the region, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Wednesday.

The chief minister said the proposed market complex would provide improved infrastructure for traders and create better marketing opportunities for local produce.

He added that creating organised market facilities is essential to strengthening the local economy and ensuring that economic benefits remain within the State.

The announcement was made during the Chief Minister’s visit to Moran, where he also inaugurated and laid the foundation for multiple development projects.
