Guwahati Dec 18:The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam, on Thursday arrested the Block Development Officer of Golokganj Development Block in Dhubri district while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000.

According to official sources, the accused officer, identified as Ratan Kumar Saha, was caught red-handed at his office while taking the bribe from a complainant. The money was allegedly demanded in connection with clearing a bill.

Following a complaint, the vigilance team laid a trap and carried out the operation, leading to the officer’s arrest on the spot. The bribe amount was recovered during the operation.
