United Christian Forum appeals for peace amid KA unrest

DIPHU, Dec 23: Following violent clashes in Kheroni and nearby areas on December 22 over eviction issues and the removal of hunger-striking protesters, the United Christian Forum (UCF) of Karbi Anglong has urged citizens to maintain peace.

The Forum expressed concern over the breakdown of law and order and appealed for protests to remain democratic and non-violent. Prayers were offered for the injured and the UCF called on the community to embrace the Christmas spirit of reconciliation and for government leaders to act with wisdom and fairness in addressing the disputes.
