Assam’s Young Innovator Aishi Prisha Borah Bags PM Rashtriya Bal Puraskar

Guwahati, Dec 26: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on December 26 congratulated Aishi Prisha Borah of Jorhat for being conferred the prestigious Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar in the field of Science and Technology.

In a post on social media platform X, the Chief Minister lauded Aishi’s innovative work in natural farming and her initiatives centred on turning waste into wealth. He said her efforts to promote sustainable and environmentally responsible practices at such a young age were not only commendable but also inspiring for other youngsters.

The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar was conferred by President Droupadi Murmu at a ceremony held in New Delhi, recognising children for exceptional achievements in Bravery, Social Service, Environment, Sports, Art and Culture, and Science and Technology.

Congratulating the awardees, President Murmu said the children had brought pride to their families, communities and the nation. She expressed confidence that such recognition would motivate young minds across the country to strive for excellence and contribute meaningfully to society.

On December 25, the President presented the awards to 20 children from different parts of India, acknowledging their outstanding abilities and achievements. Addressing the gathering, she reiterated that encouraging young talent was key to building a progressive and inclusive future.

The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar is the highest civilian honour for children in India and is awarded annually to individuals aged between 5 and 18 years for exceptional contributions across multiple fields.
