Assam DGP accepts patronship of Assam Sahitya Sabha session

GUWAHATI, Jan 3: The Organising Committee of the forthcoming Assam Sahitya Sabha Session met the Director General of Police, Assam, Harmeet Singh, IPS, at his chamber in Ulubari here in connection with his acceptance of the patronship of the organising committee. The Assam Sahitya Sabha session is scheduled to be held from January 31, 2026, at Kalakshetra, Guwahati.

During the meeting, members of the organising committee briefed the DGP on the progress of preparations and the various organisational arrangements being put in place for the smooth conduct of the prestigious literary event.

The DGP formally accepted the patronship and assured the committee of his full support, guidance and cooperation to ensure the successful and orderly conduct of the Assam Sahitya Sabha session.

The Assam Sahitya Sabha expressed its sincere gratitude to Harmeet Singh, IPS, for his encouragement and continued support to the organisation and its activities.

The delegation included Dr Bishnu Ram Nunisa vice-president of the organising committee, Dr Hiralal Bora president of the organising committee, Bashab Kalita working president and Mrs Biju Devi general secretary of the organising committee of the Assam Sahitya Sabha.
