BJP’s wall writing campaign from today

GUWAHATI, Jan 4: The Bharatiya Janata Party, Assam Pradesh, has announced the launch of a statewide wall writing campaign from January 5 as part of its preparations for the 2026 Assam Legislative Assembly elections.

The announcement was made by Pradan Baruah, Member of Parliament from the Lakhimpur Lok Sabha constituency and Convenor of the BJP Assam Pradesh 2026 Assembly Election Management Committee, during a press conference held at the party’s state headquarters, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan, on Sunday.

Baruah said the party is fully prepared for the upcoming Assembly elections, adding that election management committees have already been constituted across all Assembly constituencies and panchayat levels in the state.

He was accompanied at the press interaction by Anup Barman, Co-Convenor of the Election Management Committee and General Secretary of the Assam Pradesh BJP.

Outlining the campaign, Baruah said the wall writing drive will be formally inaugurated on January 5 in the presence of Assam Pradesh BJP president and Darrang–Udalguri MP Dilip Saikia.

The ceremonial inauguration will be carried out by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in front of Kendriya Vidyalaya at Khanapara under the Guwahati Capital Mandal.

He said that following the inauguration, BJP Members of Parliament, ministers, MLAs, state morcha presidents, district presidents, Zilla Parishad members, mayors, municipal chairpersons and anchalik panchayat members will simultaneously take up wall writing activities in their respective areas across Assam.

Baruah added that in the first phase, the campaign will carry messages highlighting the party’s focus on the protection of civilisation, culture and life; safeguarding land and rights; women’s economic empowerment; transparent and merit-based recruitment; and the vision of a developed, secure and self-reliant Assam.

The slogans will also emphasise the BJP’s commitment to Assam’s security and appeal to voters to support the party for the state’s development.
