During the meeting, the District Commissioner reviewed in detail the responsibilities assigned to members of various executive committees constituted on the basis of suggestions made in the earlier meeting held on December 24, 2025.

Stressing the importance of smooth coordination, he emphasised timely follow-up actions to ensure the successful conduct of the celebrations.

Describing Hojai as a “mini India”, Bhagawati said the central attraction of the District Day programme—the cultural procession—will feature traditional folk dance troupes representing more than 20 ethnic and community groups from across the district.

The procession will also carry awareness campaigns and exhibitions on key social issues such as Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, prevention of child marriage, drug abuse prevention and road safety.
