NAGAON, Jan 6: Prominent social worker Ranjit Borah has undertaken a series of philanthropic initiatives across the Barhampur region, extending support to religious, social, sports and cultural sectors with active public cooperation.
Recognising everyday challenges faced by rural communities, the need for social and religious reform and the shortage of sports facilities for youth, Borah has provided assistance in multiple fields with the aim of promoting equality, harmony and inclusive development.
His contributions include donating bricks for the Monikut of the main Namghar at Charchali Rangia village, corrugated tin sheets for the Namghar at Bamun Gaon and paving the floor of the Panchajanya Regional Namghar.
He also extended support to the minority community by donating cement for the main masjids at Ramtila Ati and Halowagaon, providing financial assistance for the construction of a concrete boundary wall at the Potoni Masjid and supplying iron rods for the eidgah field gate at Bamuni Muslim Gaon.
In addition, Borah helped renovate the approach road to the church at Rangagara village.
Giving priority to youth development and sports, Borah provided a volleyball to the youth group of Halowagaon Potoni Jumurmur and arranged for the installation of a tube well on the pond bank for the youth group at Bamuni Gaon.
He also distributed tin sheets to economically weaker families in Jumurmur to support housing needs.
As part of religious and cultural upliftment, Borah contributed tiles for the Mourachuk Namghar.
He also extended financial assistance to cultural and literary activities, including the annual convention of poets and litterateurs at Kampur and the convention of the Tiwa Students’ Union in Nagaon district.
The wide range of initiatives reflects Ranjit Borah’s commitment to the holistic development of society, cutting across community lines, and has earned him recognition as a development-oriented figure working towards a more inclusive and harmonious future for the Barhampur region.
