HOJAI, April 4:Ā ‘Gangaur’, the 18-day festival concluded with the immersion of the idols ofĀ Lord Shiva and Parvati at Shivbari Ghat in Hojai on Monday. It is pertinentĀ to mentionĀ here that this puja is especially done by the newly married bride and young girls. Talking to this correspondent, Puja Sharma, a devotee said, “Young girls and newly married brides celebrate this festivalĀ to appease Lord Shiva and Parvati and seek their blessings for a happy and prosperous married life.” After the immersion, the women and the girls were seen smearing colours on each other with religious fervour.
