NAGAON, Jan 19: A free medical and health check-up camp was successfully conducted at Barpeta district jail under the National AYUSH Mission, Assam, by the Arogya Care Foundation, Nagaon on Sunday.
During the camp, comprehensive medical check-ups of the inmates were carried out. Free medicines were distributed and medical counselling was provided to the prisoners to address their health-related concerns.
The camp was conducted under the professional guidance of Dr Ainul Haque of Mondia Model Hospital and Dr Ashadul Ali, Medical and Health Officer of the Jail Hospital. A dedicated team of paramedical staff from the Joint Director of Health Services extended active cooperation and assistance throughout the programme.
The initiative significantly contributed to the assessment of inmates’ health status, early detection of ailments and the promotion of overall physical and mental well-being among the prisoners.
Jail Superintendent Pranjal Sarma expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Arogya Care Foundation, Nagaon for organising the medical camp and providing free medicines and medical support. He also appreciated the valuable services rendered by the doctors and health personnel involved.
Yoga instructor Mithu Ram Sarkar assisted in coordinating the camp.
