Free medical camp held at District Jail Sonari, Charaideo

NAGAON, Jan 24: A free medical and health check-up camp was successfully conducted on Saturday at District Jail Sonari, Charaideo under the National AYUSH Mission, Assam, organised by the Arogya Care Foundation, Nagaon.

As per a press note issued by Arogya Care Foundation, medical check-ups of prisoners were carried out, free medicines were distributed and medical counselling was provided to the inmates. The camp was conducted under the professional guidance of Dr Dhurba Lochan Nath, District Nodal Officer, AYUSH.

The programme was further supported by a dedicated team of paramedical staff from the Joint Director of Health Services, who extended active cooperation and assistance throughout the camp. Yoga instructors Bhargov Jyoti Gogoi and Rumi Phukon Borah also assisted in coordinating the event.

The initiative contributed significantly to assessing inmates’ health status, early detection of ailments and promotion of overall physical and mental well-being among the prisoners.
