Jorhat police seize drugs in railway station raid

JORHAT, Jan 29: The police crackdown on drugs in Jorhat continued on Thursday with a successful raid at Jorhat Railway Station. The operation, led by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of suspected drugs.

According to sources, an elderly man, Mannu Rai from Dimapur, had brought the consignment on the Janashatabdi Express, intending to sell it to a local individual, Balin Das of Jorhat.

Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted the duo and recovered 13.49 grams of suspected drugs. Both Rai and Das were taken into custody for further investigation.
