516th Biswa Mahabir Chilarai Divosh observed in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, Feb 1: The 516th Biswa Mahabir Chilarai Divosh was observed at Dimalgaon Playground in Kokrajhar on Sunday with a series of programs organised by the Government of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) in collaboration with Koch Rajbongshi organisations.

The day began with the hoisting of flags by the BTC-nominated member and organising committee president, Karmeshwar Ray, followed by floral tributes to Biswa Mahabir Chilarai. Traditional Goalini dance performances added cultural vibrancy to the event.

On the occasion, the foundation stone of the Biswa Mahabir Chilarai Project was laid. The Rs 35 crore project has already received Rs 14 crore for its first phase, aiming to commemorate the legendary figure and promote regional heritage.
