Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president Gaurav Gogoi said the visit is designed to strengthen communication between the central leadership and grassroots workers. According to him, block level presidents and local workers, who often remain unheard in large public meetings, will now have a direct platform to share their views and concerns with the party leadership.

Soon after arriving, Gandhi offered prayers at the revered Kamakhya Temple before heading to Rajiv Bhawan, the headquarters of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee on GS Road.

At the party office, she began a series of meetings related to the screening and selection of prospective candidates for the Assembly polls. Gogoi described the visit as both spiritually significant and organisationally important, expressing hope that it would help align the party’s election strategy with grassroots expectations.

Gandhi was welcomed at Rajiv Bhawan with traditional khol and taal performances. She was accompanied by Leader of the Opposition Debabrata Saikia and AICC general secretary in charge of Assam Jitendra Singh, along with other senior party leaders.
