SIVASAGAR, Feb 20: Inaugurating the newly constructed auditorium of Purana Amolapatty Namghar Samaj, built with contributions from social worker Devajit Kakati and his wife Dr Kabita Sharma Kakati, Nanigopal Devagoswami, Satradhikar of Dakshinpat Satra, said that religion means a way to meet God or strengthen our communion with God.
Satradhikar Nanigopal Devagoswami presented a letter of appreciation to the donor family of Devajit Kakati and Dr Kabita Sharma Kakati for their generosity in constructing the auditorium.
Goswami, while explaining the importance of Shraddha, said that it is the offering of a son to his father with gratitude and respect. “The father’s place is higher than that of the gods and through serving the father, we can receive the blessings of the gods. A father dedicates his life to build the future of his children so that they become builders of human society.”
As a grateful son of a good father, Devajit Kakati and his wife have benefited the Namghar community by donating this temple.
Nipan Bardoloi, executive president of Purana Amolapatty Namghar Samaj, presided over the meeting, which was attended by prominent educationists Dipali Chaliha, Dr Rajiv Barua, Babul Bardoloi, Jatindra Narayan Sharma and Rajani Changkakati.
