Gaurav Gogoi pledge to promote Assamese culture and seek justice for Zubeen Garg

DEMOW, March 1: The Samay Paribartion Yatra (Maati Bachaok, Jaati Bachaok) of the Congress Party reached 95 No Demow Constituency on Saturday. The Congress Party workers gave a warm welcome. On the occasion, a bike rally was also taken out.

The women sang the Diha Naam at the Demow Public Playground in the presence of APCC President Gaurav Gogoi, Debabrata Saikia, Leader of Opposition, as well as MLA of Nazira Constituency, Ripun Borah, Former president of APCC, Pradyut Bordoloi, Nagaon MP, Bhaskar Barua, MLA of Titabor Constituency, along with other Congress leaders and workers. Ajay Kumar Gogoi, a ticket aspirant for the Congress Party from 95 No Demow Constituency, anchored in the programme.

Later, talking to the media here, APCC president Gaurav Gogoi said, as the people welcomes their yatra, proves that in the coming days, Congress government will come for sure. He added that after coming into the government, their first aim is to give justice to Zubeen Garg. He alleges that this government has not offered the respect to Zubeen Kshetra which they should have to do and said the State Chief Minister is busy in his campaigning. He said that they have not been able to keep Zubeen Kshetra neat and clean.

He said they wanted to take forward Assamese Culture and Assamese Tradition and alleges that everybody knows the BJP wanted to bring external culture which people see the difference. Regarding alliance with other parties, he said that yesterday, he said there is a possibility and on Saturday also his stand is steady. Later, from the Demow Public Playground, the Congress leaders had a padhyatra in Demow Hari Pora road and had meetings.
