KOKRAJHAR, March 15: Former Minister Pramila Rani Brahma has submitted her application seeking candidature for the No 3 Kokrajhar Legislative Assembly Constituency.
Former Minister and senior BPF leader Pramila Rani Brahma submitted her application to Maneswar Basumatary, Central General Secretary of BPF, at the Bodoland Guest House in Kokrajhar.
After submitting, she spoke to the media and said that she applied for the candidature because the youth and the people requested her to contest.
She also stated that this will be her last election and after this she will not contest any more elections.
When journalists asked about the interest shown by Shiuli Mohilary, wife of Hagrama Mohilary, to contest from the same constituency, Pramila Rani Brahma said that there is nothing wrong in wanting to contest an election. In a democracy, everyone has the right to seek candidature. Whoever is selected by the party high command will contest the election and the decision to give the ticket will be taken by the party leadership.
