GUWAHATI, April 30: Lakshman Prasad Acharya on Thursday interacted with five IAS probationers of the Assam–Meghalaya cadre at Lok Bhavan, urging them to prioritise citizen-centric governance and uphold the highest standards of public service.
The probationary officers called on the Governor as part of their orientation programme.
Congratulating them on joining the civil services, he emphasised the responsibility of ensuring that government schemes reach the most vulnerable sections of society effectively.
Highlighting the importance of ethical governance, the Governor stressed integrity, transparency and accountability as core values for administrators.
He encouraged the young officers to adopt the principle of “Reform, Perform, Transform” and to bring innovation and efficiency into governance systems.
He also underlined the growing role of technology in administration, noting that digital governance and emerging tools can significantly enhance transparency, responsiveness and service delivery.
Among those present during the interaction were Commissioner & Secretary to the Governor S.S. Meenakshi Sundaram, OSD to the Governor Prof. Bechan Lal, Joint Director of Training at Assam Administrative Staff College Dimple Baruah, along with officials of Lok Bhavan.
