Tezpur, 11 May: A crucial meeting was held by Sonitpur district Masters Games Association at Tezpur on the 10th of May with respect to the participation of district athletes in the upcoming World Masters Games 2026. It on shaping up strategies and creating competitive teams in various sport disciplines.
The main goal of the meeting was to inspire district senior and above 30 athletes, especially in disciplines like athletics, football, volleyball, badminton and table tennis. Organizers said the Masters Games is a great opportunity for seasoned athletes to step back on the field and showcase their revived talent.

The officials who attended the meeting also said the initiative is focused on benefitting the district in enhancing the district’s sporting culture. Furthermore, the association has decided to initiate membership campaigns and awareness campaigns in the near future for the benefit of the interested athletes.
President of the association Pranjal Borthakur and Mahesh Borkakati, the secretary, talked about the association’s obvious next steps and planned activities.
