HOWRAGHAT, June 23: Preparations are in full swing in Howraghat for the release of Mor Kabitai Edin Akash Chuba (My Poetry Will Touch the Sky One Day), the second poetry collection by local journalist and poet Khargeswar Das.
The book has been published with the support and collaboration of Bikram Kumar Chanda, a teacher of Howraghat Higher Secondary School and recipient of the Manav Daradi Award.
The poetry collection is scheduled to be formally unveiled on June 28 at the Real Concept Auditorium in Howraghat town.
The event is expected to bring together literary enthusiasts, poets, journalists and cultural personalities from different parts of the district.
Prominent entrepreneur and owner-cum-editor of the weekly newspaper Janakalyan Barta, Kumud Nath, will attend the programme as the chief guest.
According to the organisers, several distinguished litterateurs, writers, poets and media personalities have been invited to participate in the ceremony and share their views on literature and contemporary Assamese poetry.
Khargeswar Das, who has been actively associated with journalism and literary activities in the region, expressed hope that the programme would receive the support of literature lovers and well-wishers.
“I earnestly seek the active support, presence and heartfelt cooperation of all literature and poetry enthusiasts to make this book launch a grand success,” he said.
The release of the collection is expected to add to the literary landscape of the region and provide a platform for celebrating emerging voices in Assamese poetry.
