Samagra Shiksha concludes its PEDCE program

GUWAHATI, Sept 1: Samagra Shiksha, Kamrup, along with Bharti Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises, concluded the extensive program on ‘Parental Education on Digital Communication & Ethics’ initiated in August 2020. Bharti Foundation brought in their expertise and experience in parental engagement through the Satya Bharti Home Mentoring process for parents.

Under the program, virtual trainings were conducted for nine block resource persons, with help of 119 cluster resource centre coordinators who reached out to around 5570 teachers, these teachers further trained and conducted various activities for awareness for 1.3 lakh parents across the district. Teacher training commenced on August 20, 2020.

Speaking on the occasion, Apurba Thakuria AES, inspector of schools & DEEO cum DMC, Kamrup said. “We are extremely thankful to Bharti Foundation for partnering with the education department for the exceptional work done in the district. The training program connected by them has benefited parents of students from 1,908 government schools across 9 blocks by improving the overall learning experience.”

Antony Nellissery, Chief School Excellence, Bharti Foundation added, “Parents can be an equal stakeholder and a partner in enhancing the education of their children. As per our commitment to improving access to quality education for marginalised communities, we are happy to share that the project has reached around 1.3 lakh parents. The district resource team in a special way cluster resource coordinators have made tremendous efforts in this endeavor. I would like to congratulate the district education team for this success.”
