Nalbari, Sept 10: The World Literacy Day was observed on September 8 in Nalbari district by Nehru Yuba Kalyan Kendra. The day was observed with an open meeting under the presidentship of Pabitra Datta, noted senior artist and social worker which was held in Pakowa Koibarta village where most of the women and senior citizens were present.
Ramani Barman, secretary of National and State Awardee Teachers District Sanmilan was the chief guest of the meeting who delivered the importance of World Literacy Day.
Inaugurating the open meeting Hirakjoti Barman, a member of Nehru Yuba Kalyan Kendra explained that every citizen must be literate so that with their knowledge they can find out what is right and what is wrong during their course of life. The senior citizens were felicitated by Gamocha during the meeting.
