1 Dead, 7 Injured As Tree Collapses In Nagaland

DIMAPUR, Oct 12: A 33-year-old woman died and seven people were injured as a tree fell over them due to a gust of strong wind in Nagaland’s Dimapur district on Wednesday, police said.

The incident occurred at the busy Super Market area around 2:30 pm when the huge tree broke from its trunk and came crashing down on the roadside due to the impact of the strong wind, police said.

The vegetable vendor, Holika, was declared dead at the district hospital. The injured are undergoing medical treatment and one of them is stated to be in a critical condition, it added. (PTI)
