DONGKAMUKAM, Oct 19: A herd of wild elephants, numbering about 120 have been creating terror among the farmers in West Karbi Anglong.
The elephants have damaged crops in the villages of Hawaipur Nepali village, Jirim Borhuli, Jiri Basa, Guha village etc. recently under Kheroni Range Forest, West Karbi Anglong.
The elephants damaged sugarcane, vegetable crops in over several hectares. The wild animals used to take shelter in the jungle during the day and in the evening emerge to eat crops.
