BISWANATH CHARIALI, April 10: The 20th conference of National Tiger Conservation began at Seijosa on Saturday.

Bhupendra Yadav, Union minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Labour graced the conference as a chief guest.
The national conference was held at the conference hall of Pakke Tiger Reserve located at Seijosa, Arunachal Pradesh.
The conference, organised by the National Tiger Conservation Authority of India, was attended by Ashwini Kumar Choubey, state minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Pema Khandu, the chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Mama Natung, minister of Environment and Forest of Arunachal Pradesh besides others. Union minister Yadav spoke on the importance of sound biodiversity.
During his speech, the Union minister said that 2200 air guns and guns having a valid license have been surrendered by the people of Arunachal Pradesh since March 2021.
“This is an example of growing love towards preservation of biodiversity of the state,” he said while making an appeal to the people of the region to come forward and join hands with the Central Government towards preservation of tigers and the natural environment.
It is to be noted that the national conference of tiger conservation was held for the first time out of Delhi. Chandra Prakash Gowel, director of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, offered a welcome address at the beginning.
