Margherita, Nov 26: Community festival was celebrated at Powai MV School under CRC Powai on Saturday with huge enthusiasm and gaiety where more than 500 students including teachers and parents participated.
The programme began with hoisting of flag by Joymati Chetry retired teacher of Powai MV School followed by lighting of earthen lamps by Mampi Singh president of Makum Pathar Gaon Panchayat after that saplings were planted by Ronda Duari retired teacher of Powai MV School. A cultural procession was also taken out which was inaugurated by Mahendra Manjhi headmaster of Bhukon LP School.

An exhibition of teaching materials was held along with that competition was also held among the students such as tug of war, break the pot, musical chair and other games.
Rajib Gogoi headmaster of Powai MV School said, “Community festival are celebrated so that awareness can be brought among the parents, school management, committee members and other people who lives around the school campus.”
Powai MV School was established in the year 1964 to uplift education for the Tea Garden students as 80 % students of this school belongs to Tea tribes community.
