26 child-scientists of the state selected for the National Children Science Congress

TEZPUR, Dec 21: 28 children from different districts of the state have been selected for the National Children Science Congress 2022 from the four days ‘State Science Congress-2022’ which came to an end at Church Field here on Monday. It is to be mentioned here that the mega science event organised for the children along with a ‘Vigyan Mela’ at Government Boy’s HS School campus concluded successfully with the exhibition of science models by the children scientists of different schools from altogether 31 districts of the state.
Among the 31 participants’ science models, 28 models were selected and given trophies and certificates.
Besides all the selected children scientists getting opportunity to participate in the National Children Science Congress 2022 which will be held in Ahmedabad, Niharaika Dutta from Sivasagar and Pinku Boro from Udalguri have been awarded the Khagendranath Brahma and Dr Abani Chandra Goswami State Child-Scientist awards respectively.
Dr Ramesh Chandra Deka, VC, Cotton University while addressing the concluding session urged the parents to build up a scientific temperament among the children. Urging all concerned to give top priority on saving the environment, he also mentioned that avoiding plastic should not remain only a slogan rather it should be transformed into a reality.
In the programme, participating institutions were also given appreciation certificates. DC, Sonitpur, Deba Kumar Mishra released the souvenir ‘Taranga’. Among others director, ASTECH, Sadhan Kumar Sarkar, CEO, Sonitpur Zila Parishad, Karabi Saikia Karan, ADC, Education, Dyotiva Borah, inspector of schools, Prabhat Chandra Das, and principal, Darrang College, Dr Palashmani Saikia were present in the event.
